Random Sample | a sample in which every element in the population has an equal chance of being selected. |
Population | the entire group considered for a survey, or all items being considered |
Biased Sample | a sample that does NOT represent the whole population |
Distribute | to give or spread out |
Generalize | to apply information from one item or example to a larger group |
Point of View | a way of thinking about something |
Sample | items from a group |
Survey | a set of questions used to gather information and make predictions |
Data | facts and statistics collected together for reference or analysis. |
Ratio | relation between amounts of sample and the number of total population |
Random Variable | a variable is subject to random change if its value is not predictable |
Administer a Survey | plan and carry out a survey |
Distribution | the way data is spread out |
Frequency | number of times something happens in a given period |
Median | the middle number in an ordered set of numbers |
Range | the distance between the greatest and least values; a measure of spread |
