Ad libitum | Also known as “free choice” feeding (food is accessible for them whenever wanted) |
Body conditioning score | a number assigned to your pet based on evaluation of fat at a few key locations on their body |
Capsid | protein coat that surrounds the genetic material of viruses |
Concussion | a brain injury that is a violent shock or jarring of the brain tissue |

Public health | local and state professionals who regularly consult on preventing exposures to and controlling diseases that humans can get from animals and animal products |
Pyrogen | an agent in the body that increases the body’s biologic setting to a higher temperature |
Reservoir | a location at which a pathogenic agent is maintained prior to transmission; often a living organism |
Sanitizer | chemical agents that reduce the number of microorganisms to a safe level, without completely eliminating all of them |
Toxoid | inactivated antigenic toxin molecules that stimulates development of the animals owns antibodies |
Vaccine | a biologic product representing a pathogenic organism that stimulates immunity toward the pathogen |
Virus | an extremely small non living infectious agent, which can cause disease in a wide variety of animals |
Vitamins | are required by the body to carry out a range of normal functions, classified as either fat soluble or water soluble |
Wound | an injury caused by physical means, with disruption of normal structures |
Zoonosis | any disease or infection that is naturally transmissible between vertebrate animals and humans |
