Vocabulary for American Indians in Texas. Made in Fourth grade

TermDefinition
Nomadic Having no fixed home; moving in search of food.
Indigenous Living or originally born in a particular region or area.
Atlatl A special stick early Americans Indians used as a tool to hunt large animals.
Hunter Person who kills or traps an animal.
Gather Person who searches for berries, fruits and vegetables for food
Artifact A handmade item from an earlier time.
Teepee A cone shaped shelter made from animal skin that can be easily moved.
Migrate Move around from place to place.
Tribe A group of people that move and live together.
Chief Leader or ruler of a group of people.
Sedentary Not moving from place to place, rather staying still.
Bow A weapon Native Americans used to survive.
