TermDefinition
Nomadic having no fixed home; moving from place to place in search of food.
Indigenous living in or originally born in a particular region or area. A native.
Hunter Person who kills or traps an animal
Gatherer Person who searches for berries, fruits and vegetables for food
Artifact A handmade item from an earlier time
Teepee A cone shaped shelter made from animal skin that can be easily moved.
Migrate To move around from place to place
Tribe A group of people that move and live together.
Chief The leader or ruler of a group of people.
Sedentary Not moving from place to place, rather staying still.
Bow A weapon Native Americans used to survive.
Irrigation The watering of crops by moving water from nearby rivers or streams.
Confederation A group made up of smaller groups that join together to help one another.
