| Why is it important in the United States to discover and use alternative sources of energy? | Fossil Fuels aren't unending, One day they will be gone. We consume more energy than we produce. Ex. Corn, sun energy. |

| How does the moist air from the Pacific affect the cordilleras' eastern and western slopes? | In the west it is the rain shadow effect. In the east it has green hills and good rainfall. The Pacific affects the western places to be more dry while the east has more green hills and rainfall. |
| What solutions could help solve the problem of water scarcity? | Dams help with the water shortage by dams being in control of the water flow. It also uses less water and has many underground water sources |
| How might tourism and development change based on new knowledge about the Yucatan Aquifer? | People believe that with more tourist the more pollution to the water causing the water to not be clean anymore. I believe that they might have to decrease tourism just so they can protect their clean water supply. |
| Why are large bodies of water in North America important? | Because that is was helps transport water, traveling, fresh water sources, and fishing and oil drilling. It also creates physical boundaries. Ex. USA - Canada |
| How does the Great Plains region of North America vary from the coasts? | Great plains are dyer even thought they are sometimes close to water while coasts have a hotter temp and more water. |
| How does irrigation transformed the Great Plains? | Because without the irrigation the Great Plains wouldn't get the water they need. |
| Why is Commercial drilling in the Gulf of Mexico challenging? | When digging for oil underground they can sometimes interfere with the layer of salt that can cause earthquakes. |
| How does a Dam help solve the problem of scarce water? | Because with a dam is controls the water and the flow by giving it or directing it the the places that need water. |
| What is the Great Basin, and why might is be hard to live there? | The Great Basin is land that is very dry with little rain fall, it is located between mountains and it is so dry because they are effected by the rain shadow effect. |
