Irregular verbs in the preterite tense

3rd person forms are ___ él, ella, usted, ellos & ustedes
In the preterite tense the E____ in some stem changing verbs (-IR verbs only) changes to I

Preferir, servir & pedir are/are not stem changing verbs in the preterite tense. are (they end with -ir)
Three example of verbs that stem change in the past: repetir, dormir, morir
usted (pedir) pidió
ellos (pedir) pidieron
These verbs use -yo (él, ella, usted) & -yeron (ellos/ustedes) and have an accent on other endings. leer, creer, caer, oír
leer- to read
creer- to believe
caer- to fall
oír- hear
she read (preterite) ella leyó
she believed ella creyó
she fell ella se cayó
they fell ellos se cayeron
they read ellos leyeron
she heard ella oyó
