anime | a style of Japanese film and television animation, typically aimed at adults as well as children. |

console | A video game console is an electronic or computer device that outputs a video signal or visual image to display a video game that one or more people can play through some type of game controller |
Cut scene | A cutscene or event scene (sometimes in-game cinematic or in-game movie) is a sequence in a video game that is not interactive, breaking up the gameplay |
ESA | The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is where the major players of the video game industry work together to support the bright future of video games |
ESRB Rating | ESRB ratings provide information about what's in a game or app so parents and consumers can make informed choices about which games are right for their family. |
Events | Gaming Event means an occasion on which a game of chance is played |
first person shooter | a type of video game whose gameplay involves shooting enemies and other targets and in which a player views the action as though through the eyes of the character they are controlling. |
FPS | Frame rate is the frequency at which consecutive images called frames appear on a display |
game screens genre | Genres may encompass a wide variety of games, leading to even more specific classifications called subgenres. For example, an action game can be classified into many subgenres such as platform games and fighting games |
GML | Game Maker Language, the programming language of Game Maker. |
Gone Gold | Going gold in video games is industry-speak for a completed game. To be specific, a video game is gold when it's ready for publication without any unfinished areas. This event means the game is good enough to start printing copies |
Grind | In video games, grinding is performing repetitive tasks, usually for a gameplay advantage or loot but in some cases for purely aesthetic or cosmetic benefits |
Janky | Glitchy, buggy, weird issues in the game, something goes wrong in a game randomly. It is the collision of multiple 'yes/no' commands in the game that results in weird anomalies throughout |
Loot | In video games, loot describes valuable items picked up by the player character over the course of the game, such as in-game currency, spells, equipment and weapons |
MMO | a video game that can be played by many people simultaneously. |
Object | A game object generally represents a particular object or element in your game that can emit a sound, including characters, weapons, ambient objects, such as torches, and so on |
Origin point | Origin Points help you track your achievements and measure your progress while playing some of our games |
Pixels | Pixel art is a form of digital art, created through the use of software, where images are edited on the pixel level |
Platform | The new gaming platforms have much better graphics resolution than previous generation consoles. a proprietary family of video game consoles: The game will be simultaneously released on the Playstation and Xbox gaming platforms |
Quest | A quest, or mission, is a task in video games that a player-controlled character, party, or group of characters may complete in order to gain a reward |
Realm | the region, sphere, or domain within which anything occurs, prevails, or dominates |
Room | space that can be occupied or where something can be done |
RPG | Role-playing video game, electronic game genre in which players advance through a story quest, and often many side quests, for which their character or party of characters gain experience that improves various attributes and abilities. |
sprites | In computer graphics, a sprite is a two-dimensional bitmap that is integrated into a larger scene, most often in a 2D video game |
SDK | The SDK brings together a group of tools that enable the programming of mobile applications |
Strategy | strategy game or strategic game is a game (e.g. a board game) in which the players' uncoerced, and often autonomous, decision-making skills have a high significance in determining the outcome |
Top-Down | Definition. Any game that offers an elevated viewpoint above the action can be considered to have a top-down or overhead perspective |
YOYO | a thick grooved double disk with a string attached to its center axle that is made to fall and rise to the hand by unwinding and rewinding on the string |
