Term | Definition |
---|---|
Resistance | A material's opposition to the flow of electric current. |
Circuit | A path for an electrical current to flow around |
Voltage | The potential difference measured in volts. The amount of work to be done to move a charge from one point to another along an electric circuit. |
Electric current | The continuous flow of electric charges through a material |
Parallel circuit | A circuit that contains more than one path for current flow. |
Series circuit | An electric circuit with a single path |
Conductor | A material that allows heat and electricity to pass through it. |
Insulator | A material that does not allow heat or electrons to move through it easily. |
Battery | A device that converts chemical energy to electrical energy |
