Drawing Terms

Pencil Tool Allows you to free draw free following lines and shapes without utilizing snaps. Typically used for free hand sketching.
Line Tool Allows you to draw straight lines utilizing all snaps for complete enclosure of objects so that you can use the "Fill Tool" to add color to the object. After utilizing the Line Tool, you can manipulate the Line using the Selection Tool.
Oval and Rectangle Tools The oval & rectangle tools are click & drag tools. Use shift to make the oval a circle, & the rectangle a circle. Easy to use & if done wrong, can just use ctrl + z to undo & try again.
Brush Tool The brush tool is a click & drag tool. It does not use snaps to position itself. Useful for fill tool jobs.
Stroke and Fill Tool Modifying strokes & fills are in the menu. Click the needed stroke size & for the shape tools, click the fill color to find the one needed. Easy to use & if done wrong, can just use ctrl + z to undo & try again.
Polygon and Polystar Tools The polygon & poly star tools are click & drag tools. Use the menu to select a side amount, point size, & style, which is either polygon or star. It is useful as a shape tool.
Pen Tool The pen tool is a click & drag tool. Click on the stage then drag to get the first points, & continue to click & drag on the points in order to make a shape. Useful for fill tool jobs.
Free Transform Tool The free transform tool is a click & drag tool. Click & drag over the object to select it & use the squares on the corners & top middle, bottom middle, left middle, & right middle to resize, move, & rotate the object.
