Developer | Noun A person or company that creates new products, especially computer products such as software Sentence We need to hire a new Design Developer |
Hire | Verb To bring a new employee into a business Sentence She needs new people, so she is going to hire new designers. |
Rush | Verb To make someone or something hurry. Sentence You can't rush a job like this. |
Tax | Noun Money that you have to pay to the government from what you earn or when you buy things Sentence I need to pay the taxes monthly |
Trade off | Noun A situation in which you balance two opposing situations or qualities Sentence There is a trade-off between doing the job accurately and doing it quickly. |
Haggle | Verb To attempt to decide on a price or conditions that are acceptable to the person selling the goods and the person buying them, usually by arguing Sentence It's traditional that you haggle over/about the price of things in the market. |
Hassles | Noun (A situation causing) difficulty or trouble Sentence My boss has been giving me a lot of hassle this week. |
Asset | Noun A useful or valuable quality, skill, or person Sentence He'll be a great asset to the team. |
Rely | Phrasal verb To depend on or trust someone or something Sentence You can’t rely on good weather for the whole trip. |
Savvy | Noun Practical knowledge and ability Sentence She's very intelligent, but hasn't got much savvy. |
Insider | Noun Someone who is an accepted member of a group and who therefore has special or secret knowledge or influence Sentence The insiders are having difficulty making up its mind. |
Hail | Verb To call someone in order to attract their attention Sentence Let´s hail a taxi |
Output | Noun An amount of something produced by a person, machine, factory, country, etc Sentence The company needs to increase the output of sales. |
Loan | Noun An amount of money that is borrowed, often from a bank, and has to be paid back, usually together with an extra amount of money that you have to pay as a charge for borrowing Sentence How much interest are you paying on the loan? |
Debt | Noun Something, especially money, that is owed to someone else, or the state of owing something Sentence I think i have a debt with the bank |
Wholesaler | Noun Someone who buys and sells goods in large amounts to shops and businesses Sentence He´s the best wholesaler in the shop. |
Lend | Verb To give something to someone for a short period of time, expecting it to be given back Send Mary lends John her glasses. |
Invoice | Noun A list of things provided or work done together with their cost, for payment at a later time Sentence Don’t forget that we need to pay within 45 days of receiving the invoice. |
Profit | Noun Money that is earned in trade or business after paying the costs of producing and selling goods and services Sentence He sold his house at a huge profit. |
Budget | Noun The amount of money you have available to spend. Sentence The gouvernment has de budget to buy the Covid vaccine. |
Sponsor | Verb/Noun Firm supporting an organization in return for advertising space and brand recognition Sentence We're trying to find companies to sponsor us. |
Counteroffer | Noun Counter-bid Sentence John offered to sell me his used car for $15,000. It’s a nice car but that’s a little too expensive. So I’m going to make him a counter offer. |
Trademark | Noun A name or symbol on a product that shows it was made by a particular company Sentence Apple is a trademark |
Visual aids | Noun Something that you are shown, such as a picture, film, or map, in order to help you understand or remember information Sentence Your visual aids really helped me get a better picture of this complex construction project. |
Branch | Noun Refers to the local office or shop of a company Sentence Bershka has a lot of branches |
Guarantee | Noun Assurance itself. If the guarantee also involves a physical document Sentence That microwave needs a guarantee |
Penalty | Noun Official punishment, usually through a fine or other payment, for breaking a contract. Sentence If you don’t pay your suppliers on time, there will be a penalty of 15%. |
Headquarters | Noun Head office where a company is controlled or managed from. Sentence Apple’s new headquarters in Silicon Valley is one of the most beautiful buildings |
Launch | Noun An event to celebrate or introduce something new Sentence The company is going to launch a new product |
Enquiry | Noun Asking for information Sentence I have an enquire to the boss. |
Fund | Noun An amount of money that is collected or given for a purpose Sentence My pension is a fund by the bank |
Invest | Verb To give money to a bank or business, or to buy something, because you hope to make a profit Sentence The company invested a million dolars to get a new building |
Knowledge | Noun Information and understanding that you have in your mind Sentence His knowledge of history is amazing. |
Provide | Verb To give something to someone Sentence He provides the money for his son |
Refund | Noun An amount of money that is given back to you, especially because you are not happy with something you have bought Sentence They refund to me that money of th t-shirt. |
Retailer | Noun A person, shop, or business that sells goods to the public Sentence Louise is a great jewerly retailer. |
Shipping | Noun The act of sending goods from one place to another, especially by ship The cost is $205 plus $3 for shipping. |
Owe | Verb To have to pay money back to someone who gave you money in the past Sentence He owes $5,000 to the bank. |

Comply | Verb To act according to an order, set of rules, or request Sentence You need to comply as the company says or you will be fired |
Merger | Noun An occasion when two or more companies join together to make one larger company Sentence There are no plans to merger with that company |
Overtime | Noun Extra time that you work after your usual working hours Sentence I have to work overtime today |
Petty cash | Noun A small amount of money kept in an office for buying small things that are needed Sentence Take the petty cash that´s keep on the desk. |
Mogul | Noun A very rich person who has great power or influence in a particular industry or activity Sentence Trump is one of the most important mogul |
Wage | Noun The amount of money a person regularly gets for his or her job Sentence Today I´ve got my wage |
Bill | Noun A piece of paper that tells you how much you must pay for something Sentence Could I get the bill, please? |
