What is an ecosystem? Different organisms in a biome with different things to live off and weather and landscape.
What biome is the UK in? Deciduous forest
What are the three stages of a river? Upper, middle, lower
What stage of the river is medway in? Lower
Give 4 characteristics of temperate deciduous woodland: Temperate deciduous forests are found between 40° and 60° north and south of the equator. The rainfall is high, between 500-1,500 mm a year. The soil typically is rich.
What two types of factors found in an ecosystem? Abiotic factors are the nonliving aspects of the environment. They include factors such as sunlight, soil, temperature, and water. Biotic factors are the living aspects of the environment.
What is Climate change? The long term shift in regional or global patterns. The rise in global temperatures since the mid 20th century.
What is adaption? Change your behaviour ad way of living when what has already happened.
What is mitigation? When you change your behaviour and way of life to stop climate change.
Name 5 towns in Medway? Strood, chatham, Gillingham, Rochester, Rainham.
Name two places of historical interest in Medway? Rochester castle and the oldest pub in the UK.
Name two urban models? Concentric zone and sector.
What is deindustrialisation? The reduction of industrial activity or capacity in a region or economy.
List the ways that deindustrialisation has impacted Medway? Making people homeless and factories that are being built are an eyesore.
What are the human and physical threats facing Medway? Carbon footprint and flooding of Grain.
How should these threats be overcome? Electric vehicles and Flood walls.
How has climate change affected Medway? People cant grow their crops as much.
