Legal | These are set out law |
Social | Responsibility to respect the rights of others and to act in the best interest of society as a whole |
Environmental | Ensuring that that the actions of individuals and organisations do not damage the environment |
Ethical | Doing what we believe to be right, such as treating employees fairly |
Laws protecting employees | ~protection of young persons (employment) act 1996 ~Employment equality acts 1998-2015 ~unfair dismissals acts 1977-2015 |
Valid reasons for dismissal | -incompetence -misconduct -redundancy -unqualified -incapability |
Legal rights of employees | -receive the minimum wage -receive a contract -receive paid holidays -workplace is safe and healthy -receive proper breaks -be provided with information that their employer has about them |
Legal responsibilities of employees | -carry out their duties -follow workplace rules -respect employers property -don’t bully or discriminate other employees |
Social rights of employees | -to work in a safe and respectful atmosphere -to join a trade union if they choose to |
Social responsibilities of employees | -treat everyone with respect -work and support Co workers to achieve aims of the business -be loyal to their employer |
Environmental rights of employees | -to have a safe and healthy working environment -to be provided with safety equipment and protective clothing -not to be asked to carry out out work that breached environmental regulations. |

Ethical rights of employees | -receive adequate payment -to have religious and cultural beliefs respected -not to be asked to do anything unethical |
