Check in to go to a desk in a hotel, an airport, etc. and tell an official there that you have arrived. -Check in at -Check sby in "Call the hotel and tell them we will check in tomorrow before noon"
Set off/ out ​to begin a journey. -Set off for "We set off for Bristol early in the morning" "We set off for London just after ten"
See off to go to a station, an airport, etc. to say goodbye to somebody who is starting a journey. "Their family went to the airport to see them off"
Take off (of an aircraft, etc.) to leave the ground and begin to fly. "The plane took off at 3 pm and landed in Mexico at 9:30"
Break down (of a machine or vehicle) to stop working because of a fault. "Their car broke down on the way to Madrid"
Put up to let somebody stay at your home. "Don't stay in a hostel. We can put you up while you are in Lima"
Pick sby up pick sby ↔ up- to go somewhere in your car and collect somebody who is waiting for you. "I'll pick you up at 5" "John will pick you up from the station"
Drop sby/sth ↔ off to take someone or something to a place by car and leave them there on your way to another place. "The bus will drop you off at the hostel so that you can rest for a while"
Slow down to go or to make something/somebody go at a slower speed or be less active. "The car slowed down as it approached the junction". "Can you slow down? You are exceeding the speed limit" .
Speed up Speed something ↔ up to move or happen faster; to make something move or happen faster. "Can you speed up? We are running late". "They have speeded up production of the new car".
Show somebody round (something) to be a guide for somebody when they visit a place for the first time to show them what is interesting "Our mexican friend is going to show us round the old town today"
Travel through (idiom) to move or journey around or across sth or some place. "I'm travelling through France in my way to Spain". "We're going to travel through San Luis in order to get to Mendoza"
