Por or Para?

You use para to express: Purpose (for the purpose of; in order to) For the benefit of (for a person) To or in the direction of when talking about a place By or for when referring to a specific point in time
Examples of para: Para bailar la bamba se necesita una poca de gracia.... (To dance the bamba you need a little grace.... Es para usted. (It's for you) Voy para Europa. (I'm going to Europe) Necesito la tarea para mañana. (I need the homework for tomorrow)
You use por to express: Movement along, through, around, by, for a place Time or duration of time that something happens Cause of an action Per Supporting or in favor of something The way a person travels Numerous expressions
Examples of por: Anduvimos por las calles de la ciudad. (We walked through the streets of the city.) Viajamos a España por dos semanas. (We are traveling to Spain for two weeks) Me caí por la lluvia. (I fell because of the rain) 95 por ciento (95%)
More examples of por: Trabajamos por derechos civiles. (We work for civil rights) Viajamos por avión. (We travel by plane) Por favor; por ejemplo; por desgracia (Please, for example, unfortunately)
