What criteria must be met for extra label drug use in vet medicine? Professional judgement and every effort to use approved drugs at approved dosages, valid VCPR, animal identification, document drug labeling and record keeping, ill patients whose life or health is threatened.
Are their different considerations for food producing animals? yes, potential to adversley affect human health and understand withdrawl time for ie dose to slaughter time or animal products like milk and eggs......... prohibited for animal enhancement, production, or reproduction, growth promotion,
How should expired drugs in a hospital pharmacy be handled? returned to manufacturer (reverse distribution company) or if according to the label can be washed down the drain with water.
