Term | Definition |
---|---|
Career | A progression of related jobs a person has over an extended period of time. |
Career Path | Helps you find out how you might move from one job to another within a career cluster. |
Credential/Certification | An earned distinction used to indicate a profession is suitable and qualified to do something or work in a field. |
Consumer Services | Pathway that includes occupations related to helping individuals with decisions and problems relating to finance, real estate, insurance and consumer goods. |
Counseling and Mental Health | Pathway that includes workers who assist people with personal, family, educational, mental health, and career decisions and problems. Might work in hospitals, clinics, schools or private settings. |
Early Childhood Services | Pathway that includes occupations related to the nurturing or teaching of infants and young children in child care centers, nursery schools, preschools, public schools, private households, and before- and after-school programs. |
Family and Community Services | Pathway that includes occupation related to helping disabled, elderly, impoverished or other social services. |
Human Services | A broad career field that involves helping others to improve their quality of life throughout the life span |
Human Services Practitioner | Person who works within the human services career field. |
