What do the numbers mean on the blades | Number indicates a different length of cut The lower the number, the longer the cut The higher the number, the closer the cut to the skin For example, a #3 blade will leave 13mm of hair versus a #10 that will leave 2mm of hair |
Which blade do I use? | Many of our grooming ID sheets will tell us what kind of cut and/or blade to use |
What is blade #7, 5FC, and 4F used for | Often used for clipping body and legs. |
What is blade #10 used for | Often used for clipping face, ears, and for sanitary clips. Provides a closer cut than the 7 blade |
How to put blade on clipper | Slide the blade onto the metal holder of the clipper Keep motor on when putting a blade on To remove turn clipper off |
Clipping Tips… | Always keep the blade flat against the dogs’ body The danger spots for cutting are the legs and face |
How to run clippers | Run clippers in direction of coat (with the grain). If run in opposite direction, then you will end up with a shorter length than intended |
What should you do if blades get hot | Blades get hot. Check often and apply Kool Lube as needed |
