Absolute Value | The distance a number is from zero on a number line. ALWAYS POSITIVE |
Distributive Property | a(b + c) = ab + ac |
Quadrant | One of four sections into which the coordinate plane is divided |
Mixed Numbers | An integer and a fraction together. |
Scale (on a graph) | The numbers on the axes of a graph that show the intervals |
Additive Identity | a + 0 = a |
Equivalent | Having the same value |
Integers | The set of whole numbers and their opposites {. . .-2, -1, 0, 1, 2. . .}. |
Rational Numbers | *Any number that can be expressed as a fraction. *A set of numbers that includes positive and negative whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. |
Terminating Decimals | A decimal whose digits end. Every terminating decimal can be written as a fraction with a denominator of 10, 100, 1,000, and so on. |
Repeating Decimals | A decimal in which one or more digits repeat infinitely |
Interval | A set of numbers between two given numbers. |
Additive Inverse | The opposite of a number |
Fraction Greater than 1 | A fraction that has a numerator greater than its denominator (Improper Fraction). |
