Where do Culex mosquitoes prefer to lay eggs Stagnant water found in artificial containers such as storm water catch basins
Where do Aedes mosquitoes prefer to lay eggs? Areas with a history of flooding - floodplains, pasture depressions, partially shaded woodland pools, roadside ditches, etc.
What part of the body is the abdomen? The segmented hindmost part of the mosquito which includes the digestive and respiratory systems.
What part of the body is the thorax? The torso or back of the mosquito, located between the head and abdomen and contains the wings and legs.
What are the proboscises? The tubular, sucking mouthparts used to pierce the skin and suck blood.
What are the palps? A pair of linear sensory appendages located on either side of the proboscis.
