What does the central nervous system consist of and what is its responsibility? The CNS consists of the brain & spinal cord. Responsible for integrating, processing and coordinating sensory data and motor commands.
List the 3 types of sensory receptors that PNS involves and they do 1. Somatic sensory receptors provide position, touch, pressure, pain & temp sensations. 2. Special sensory receptors provide sensations of smell, taste, vision, balance & hearing. 3. Visceral sensory receptors monitor internal organs

What is the function of TSH Stimulates production and release of thyroid hormone
What is Cardiac output determined by? Stroke volume and heart rate
Starling’s law of the heart states that, within limits, the longer, or more stretched, the heart fibers are at the beginning of the contraction, the Stronger the contraction
After blood leaves the lungs and returns to the heart where does it go? Left Atrium
a natural constituent of blood, acts as an antithrombin and prevents clots from forming in vessels is called Heparin
What are the organs of the lymphatic system? Spleen, tonsils, appendix, thymus, lymphatic capillaries, lymphatic vessels, lymph nodes, lymph trunks, lymph ducts, red bone marrow
What are the functions of the lymphatic system? Drain excess interstitial fluid, transport dietary lipids, and carry out immune responses
What is lymph? Colorless interstitial fluid confined in lymphatic vessels and flowing through the lymphatic system until it is returned to the blood
What are the multiple systems that work together in to produce respiration Respiratory system, skeletal and muscular system, nervous system, and cardiovascular system
What is total lung capacity? The maximum volume of air that the lungs can hold
What is vital capacity? The total amount of air a person can exchange through forced breathing
What are the six main function of the digestive system? Ingestion, motility, secretion, digestion, absorption, and elimination
What are the two types of digestion? Mechanical and Chemical
What are the three phases of the swalloing process? Voluntary phase, pharyngeal phase, and esophageal phase
