Planetary Motions
Rotation, Revolution, and Seasons
| Question | Answer |

| Revolution - | The motion of a body as it orbits another body in space. |
| Year - | The amount of time for a given body to revolve around the sun one time and for Earth to go through all four seasons. |
| Orbit - | The path a body takes as it travels around another body in space. |
| Tilt - | An angled position (Earth 23.5 degrees). |
| Seasons - | Is a division of the year, marked by changes in weather, ecology, and hours of daylight based off the amount of direct or indirect sunlight. |
| Summer - | The season the hemisphere is having when Earth is tilted toward the Sun and there is more direct sunlight. |
| Winter - | The season the hemisphere is having when Earth is tilted away from the Sun and there is less direct sunlight. |
| Axis | An imaginary line that passes through a planet on which it spins |
| Day | The amount of time for a given body to make one complete turn on its axis |
| Rotation | The spinning motion of a body on its axis |
