Axis (or Axis of Rotation) the line through the center of an object at which it spins.
Equator the imaginary line around the center (or middle) of the rotating object
Orbit the path an object takes in space
Solar systems orbit a ___ galaxy
Planets orbit a ____ star
Do all planets orbit a star? No. Some planets were able to pull away from a star's gravitational pull.
As a solar system orbits a galaxy it drags all its planets with it. How is this possible? A solar system's star holds all the planets in place due to its gravity along with the gravity of the other planets.
gravity a pulling force created due to the mass of an object
mass the amount of matter in an object
volume the amount of space an object takes up
density the amount of space inside an object, or how compact an object is. The more compact, the higher the value.
Momentum the quantity, or amount, of motion of a moving body.
