AI | Artificial intelligence |
Anime | a style of Japanese film and television animation, |
Console | comfort (someone) at a time of grief or disappointment. |
Cut scene | in a video game) a scene shown to the player when they reach a particular point in the game, such as at the end of a level or when the player's character dies. |
ESA | The Entertainment Software Association is the trade association of the video game industry |
ESRB rating | indicates the content of a game or app is generally suitable for all ages, and may contain minimal cartoon, fantasy or mild violence, or infrequent use of mild language |
First Person Shooter | a type of video game whose gameplay involves shooting enemies and other targets and in which a player views the action as though through the eyes of the character they are controlling. |
FPS | frame per second |
Game screens | the screen on the Website and/or Mobile App setting out information relating to a Game. |
Genre | a category of artistic composition, as in music or literature, characterized by similarities in form, style, or subject matter. |
Gone Gold | development on the game is done, and the game is ready to be sold |
grind | To work or study hard; to hustle or drudge. |
janky | of extremely poor or unreliable quality. "the software is pretty janky" |
level | having a flat and even surface without slopes or bumps. |
loot | steal goods from (a place), typically during a war or riot. |
MMO | an online video game which can be played by a very large number of people simultaneously. |
Pixels | a minute area of illumination on a display screen, one of many from which an image is composed. |
Platform | a raised level surface on which people or things can stand. |
Quest | a long or arduous search for something. |
Realm | a kingdom. "the peers of the realm" |
RPG | "Role-Playing Game. |
Sprites | a computer graphic which may be moved on-screen and otherwise manipulated as a single entity. |
Top-down | denoting a system of government or management in which actions and policies are initiated at the highest level; hierarchical. |
