Convulsion series of involuntary contractions of various voluntary muscles.
Contracture condition in which there is a great resistance to the stretching of a muscle
Fibrosis Degenerative disease in which connective tissue with the main fibers replaced skeleton muscles
Myotonia Prolonged muscle spasm
Myopathy any muscular disease
paralysis Loss of the ability to move a body part
torticollis condition in which the neck muscles such as the sternocleidomastoids contract involuntarily. It is more commonly called wryneck.
intercalated disc membranous band that connects cardiac muscle cells
synergist muscle that works together with a prime mover to produce a movement
fasciculus bundle of muscle fibers
myogram recording of a muscular contraction
muscular hypertrophy enlargement of muscle fibers
isotonic contraction contraction during which the tension in a muscle remains unchanged
latent period period between a stimulus and the beginning of a muscle contraction
myofibril contractile fiber of a muscle cell
sarcoplasmic reticulum network of membranous channels within a muscle fiber
sarcoplasm substance (cytoplasm) within a muscle fiber
tetanic contraction sustained muscular contraction
voluntary muscle muscle that can be controlled by conscious effort
