FEDERAL | Relating to the central or national government. |

JUDICIAL REVIEW | The process by which the Supreme Court decides if actions of Congress and the president are allowed by the Constitution |

RATIFY | To approve formally. |
REPEAL | To end a law by formal legislative procedure. |
SEGREGATION | A system of separating people of different races or ethnic groups. |
SUFFRAGE | The right to vote. |
VETO | To stop a law from being put into action. |
