What was the name of the ruler who helped Aksum reach its height around AD 325? Ezana was the successful ruler who helped Aksum improve greatly around AD 325.
What were Ezana's main accomplishments? Ezana's main accomplishments were conquering current day Yemen, conquering the Kushites, and burning Meroe to the ground.
Which cultures incredibly influenced the Aksum's traditions? Aksum was incredibly influenced by Arabian and Kushite traditions.
How did the kingdom of Aksum attract so many? The kingdom of Aksum grew to become a powerful trading center which attracted many.
What religion did the Aksumites practice before Christianity and Islam? The Aksumites practiced a polytheistic religion known as Animism.
How did Christianity come to Aksum? What was the result of it's upbringing? Ezana declared the kingdom's official religion to be Christianity after he converted. As a result, Christianity impacted and blended with new beliefs and traditional religious practices. Today, Ethiopia is home to millions of Christians.
What were the main innovations of the Aksumites? The main innovations were their own written language and their minted coins.
What caused the decline of Aksum? Aksum finally declined under Muslim invaders who conquered all of Arabia.
What was a result of the Muslim invading Aksum? Aksum became isolated from other Christian settlements as a result of the Muslim invaders.
Where did Aksum relocate? What was a result of this? Aksum relocated to what is now Northern Ethiopia, however, the environmental flaws led to the kingdom's decline.
