AWS Intro: Cloud Service and Computing Models

TermDefinition
Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Access to networking features, computers (virtual or on dedicated hardware) and data storage space.
Platform as a Service (PaaS) Service that reduces underlying infrastructure management and drives focus on deployment and management of application.
Software as a Service (SaaS) Complete product that service provider runs and manages such as end-user applications. Example: web based email.
Cloud Model a cloud-based application fully deployed in the cloud built on a low-level infrastructure pieces or higher-level services that provide abstraction from the management, architecting and scaling requirements.
Hybrid Model Connect to infrastructure and applications between cloud-based resources and on-premise.
On-premise Model Virtualization and resource management tools (aka private cloud) provided dedicated resources. Models legacy It infrastructure with virtualization technologies.
