Points, Lines, and Planes Vocabulary
Term | Definition |

Point | A location. It has no size or shape. |
Line | Made up of points and has no thickness or width. It extends infinitely in both directions. |
Plane | A flat surface made up of points that extends infinitely in all directions. |
Collinear points | Points that are on the same line. |
Coplanar points | Points that are on the same plane. |
Noncollinear points | Points that do not lie on the same line. |
Noncoplanar points | Points that do not lie in the same plane. |
Line Segment | A measurable part of a line that consists of two points, called endpoints, and all of the points between them. |
Midpoint | The point of a segment that is halfway between the endpoints of the segment. The "middle" of the segment. |
Bisect | To cut into two parts of equal measure. |
Congruent | Equal in measure. |
Equidistant | Equal in distance. |
Postulate | A statement that is accepted as true without proof. |
Theorem | A statement or conjecture that can be proven true using undefined terms, definitions, and postulates. |
