cent 1 cent is 1/100 of a dollar
decimal A fraction whose denominator is a power of ten and whose numerator is expressed by digits placed to the right of a decimal point
decimal point The period that separates the whole from the whole from the parts. whole.parts
denominator The bottom number of a fraction that tells how many EQUAL pieces are needed to make a whole
equal A symbol showing that one amount is the same value as another amount
equal parts Parts with the same amount or measure, but not necessarily the same shape
equation A mathematical sentence with an equal sign. The amount on one side of the equal sign has the same value as the amount on the other side.
equivalent Equal in value
equivalent fractions Equal in value
expression A mathematical phrase without an equal sign
false Not according to truth or fact; incorrect, not true
fraction A way of describing equal parts OR Unfinished division!
hundredths The digit 2 places to the right of the decimal. A very small amount
is greater than > Greater than is used to compare two numbers when the first number is larger than the second number
is less than< Less than is used to compare two numbers when the first number is smaller than the second number
mixed number A way to show how many wholes and how many equal extra parts there are in all whole and extra/equal parts
numerator The top number of a fraction. The numerator tells how many equal pieces you have
