divisor a number by which another number is divided
divide to separate into equal groups
dividend a number that is divided by another number
denominator the quantity in a fraction that tells how manhy equal parts make up a whole
fraction a number that represents part of a whole
mixed number a number that has a non-zero whole number and a fraction
improper fraction a fraction whose numerator is greater than or equal to its denominator
numerator the quantity that tells how many equal parts you have out of a whole
product the answer to a multiplication problem
repeating decimal a decimal which has repeating digits or a repeating pattern of digits
terminating decimal a decimal which has a finite number of digits; it has a clear end
difference the answer to a subtraction problem
sum the answer to an addition problem
reciprocal one of two numbers whose product is 1
quotient the answer to a division problem
whole number a set of number that includes zero and all of the counting numbers
composite number a whole number greater than one that has two or more factors
factor a whole number that is multiplied by another whole number to get a product
greatest common factor GCF the highest number that divides exactly (with no remainder) into two or more numbers
least common multiple LCM the lowest whole number that can be divided by two or more numbers
multiple the result of multiplying two integers
prime number a whole number greater than one that has exactly two factors, 1 and itself
