Hyperplasia An increased number of cells in response to hormone stimulation.
Hypertrophy An increase in the size of cells, tissues, and organs as a result of increased workloads.
Atrophy A decrease in cell, tissue, and organ size as a result of reduced workloads, ageing, or disease.
Metaplasia Change of one cell type to another. Can progress into cancer.
Dysplasia The disorderly arrangement of cells and nuclei that can progress to cancer if not treated.
