moon revolves | orbits around the earth, takes 27 days |
satelite | any object that orbits a planet |
high tide | areas of more where aligned with the moon as it pulls the liquid from large bodies of water in line with it |
low tide | areas of less water perpendicular to the moon where water is pulled from to move to high tide |
spring tide | the moon, earth, and sun are aligned and have a greater gravitational pull on bodies of water |
neap tide | the moon, earth, and sun are perpendicular and have less gravitational pull on bodies of water. |
umbra | the dark shadow of an eclipse that completely blocks the light |
penumbra | the lesser shadow that allows some light to pass around |
