TermDefinition
y intercept The starting value. The point at which the line crosses the y axis. The value of y when x is zero.
slope The steepness of a line.
The rate of change. slope
m slope in a linear equation
b y intercept in a linear equation
function is a rule or relation such that for every input there is only one output.
input independent variable (x) or what goes into a function
output dependent variable (y) of what comes out of a function
range set of all outputs
domain set of all inputs
y intercept in a table the y-value when x=0
what the slope when there is no number in front of x 1
what the y intercept is when there is no y intercept 0
zero slope when the slope of an equation or line is equal to zero and produces a horizontal line
