Rooster | Intact male ratite, parrot, sexually mature male chicken |
Hen | Intact female ratite, parrot, turkey, or chicken |

Chick | Young rattie (usually less than 6 months of age), parrot, or very young chicken |
Yearling | Ostrich from 6 months to 12 months of age; young equine between 1 and 2 years old |

Gaggle | Group of geese |
Gilt | Young female pig that has not farrowed |
Barrow | Male pigs castrated when young |
Sire | Male rat/mouse |
