APM PMQ Competence 10 terminology
Term | Definition |
---|---|
Communication | The process of exchanging information and confirming there is shared understanding. |
Communication plan | A document that identifies what information is to be communicated to whom, why, when, where, how, by whom, through which medium and the desired impact. |
Face to face communication | Each participant can see the other party or parties in a conversation (so including videoconferencing). |
Noise | Any influence that modifies the meaning of a message to the receiver. This includes, culture, language, environment, etc. as well as sound interference. |
Physical communication | Non-verbal communication, including printed material, posters, signage, etc. |
Stakeholder engagement | The systematic identification, analysis, planning and implementation of actions designed to influence stakeholders. |
Stakeholders | Organisations or people who have an interest or role in the project, programme or portfolio, or are impacted by it. |
Virtual communication | Interactive communication without co-location, relying on some technology platform to provide a communication medium (telephone, videoconference, screen-sharing application, etc.) |
