Data | Fact and Statistics Collected together for Reference or analysis |
Statistics | A Fact or Piece of Data from a Study of a Large Quantity of Numerical data |
Variability | How Far Apart Data Points Lie from Each other and from the Center of a Distribution |
Statistical Questions | A Question that can be Answered by Collecting Data and that Anticipates Variability in those Data |
Range | The area of Variation between upper and lower limits on a particular scale |
dot plot | if more than one dot falls in the same position, they are stacked up. |
maximum | highest or greatest amount or value |
distribution | it describes the shape of a data set when displayed on a histogram |
mode | in a set of scores, values or numbers the mode is the one that occurs the most |
data landmark | Landmarks include mean, median, mode, minimum, maximum, and range. |
minimum | lowest or least amount or value |
median | the middle value (or midpoint) after all the data points have been arranged in value order as a list of numbers. |
