| era | a period of time that is associated with a particular person, event, or quality |
| landform | shapes and types of land |
| plate tectonics | the theory that the Earth's surface is divided into a number of plates which float independently over hot liquid rock, forming new land patterns and causing earthquakes |
| climate | the average weather of a place over a period of 20 years |
| vegetation | plant life that grows in an area |
| culture | the customs, ideas, beliefs, and skills of a people |
| physical geography | the study of land and its features |
| human geography | learning about people and their ways |
| globe | the most accurate "picture "of the earth, its a sphere with a map of Earth printed on tit |
| relief | a change in elevation |
| physical map | a map that highlights many of the natural features of a place , such as mountains, plains, rivers, and lakes by using color and shading |
