Ch. 3 Vocab: Decimals

DefinitionTerm
A number whose whole number part and fractional part is separated by a decimal point decimal
A point that separates the whole number part from the fractional part of a number decimal point
To find a value that is close to the right answer, usually involving thought or calculation estimate
A method of rounding/estimating where you round a number to the highest place front end rounding (or front end estimation)

The top number in a fraction that shows how many parts you have numerator
The bottom number in a fraction that shows how many equal parts the whole is divided into denominator
