Mass and Gravity

TermDefinition
Gravity A force that attracts objects towards a center of an object with a large mass such as a planet. The attractive force between two objects with mass.
Mass The physical property of Matter which defines how much matter is in an object.
Non-Contact A force that does not require contact to cause change.
Position Position is the place where an object is located.
Speed The rate at which the object moves the amount of distance traveled per unit per time.
Direction The course along which an object moves.
Contact Force A force that requires contact to cause change.
Inertia A property of matter that states that an object is going to continue doing whatever motion it is currently doing. For example if it is ; a)At rest it stays at rest b)Same speed it keeps the same speed. c) Straight line it stays in a straight line.
Comets Made out of frozen gas and dust and have tails.
Asteroids The are made of iron and nickel which are metals. They have different shapes(irregularly shaped). They are smaller than a planet. They orbit the sun in the asteroid belt.
Meteors Also made out of iron and nickel, Meteors are usually a part of an asteroid or comet. They can be very small like a pebble. They are found everywhere- in space,in our atmosphere or on Earth.
