What is data? a collection of information, one piece of a record
What is hardware? the physical piece of technology
What is software? a program that runs the hardware, that includes a set of instructions written to direct the computer to execute specific tasks
What does technology include? hardware, software, data, and network communication
What is an information system? the intersection of technology, people and processes within an organization
What is network communication? involves tools that allow people to communicate electronically
What is a process? a series of steps undertaken to achieve a goal, should align with the company goals
What does IPOS stand for? Input, Process, Output, Storage
What are types of input? keyboard, scanner, microphone, mouse or another computer
What is output? processed information in a usable form
What is storage? saving data for a period of time
What is information? a collection of records
What is a record? pieces of data put together
What are peripheral devices? hardware that surrounds the system unit's that may be connected wirelessly or wired.
What is an operating system? software written for a specific type of computer such as Windows, Chrome or iOS.
What is application software? the sets of instructions installed in a computing device that let's us "do" something
What is a computer network? a grouping of computer stations connected in some manner that allows for sharing resources
