What does the physical dimension mean? | Actively makes healthy decisions on daily basis, nutritionally balanced diet, adequate amount of sleep, visits doctors routinely, exercise 3-5 times a week, identify personal limits. |
What does emotional dimension mean? | Expresses and manages all feelings, high self-esteem, positive body image, regulate their feelings, seeks help if needed |
What does the intellectual dimension mean? | engage in lifelong learning, seek knowledge and activities that further develop their critical thinking. |
What does spiritual dimension mean? | Core set of beliefs that guide their decision making, and other faith-based endeavors |
What does environmental dimension mean? | Appreciates the external cues and stimuli that an environment can provide |
What does occupational dimension mean? | They enjoy the pursuit of a career which is fulfilling on a variety of levels, finds satisfaction in work |
What does financial dimension mean? | People who are fully aware of their financial state, set long-term and short-term goals regarding finances |
What does cultural dimension mean? | Aware of their own cultural background and diversity and richness present in other cultural backgrounds |
Stages of the Transtheoretical model | Precontemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, maintenance, termination |
What is precontemplation? | People don't intend to take action in the foreseeable future, unaware their behavior is problematic |
What is contemplation? | People intend on starting a healthy behavior, they recognize their behavior may be problematic |
What is preparation? | People are ready to take action within 30 days, small steps toward behavior change is taken |
What is action? | People recently changed their behavior and intend to keep moving forward with that behavior change |
What is maintenance? | People have sustained their behavior change for a while and intend to keep that behavior change going forward |
What is termination? | People who have no desire to return to the unhealthy behaviors and are sure they won't relapse |
