intergers

TermDefinition
Absolute Value The absolute value of a number a is its distance from 0 on a number line. The absolute value of a number a is written as /a/.
Opposites Two numbers that are the same distance from 0 but on opposite sides 0.
Integer The numbers . . . , -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, . . . consisting of the negative integers, zero, and the positive integers.
Additive Inverse The additive inverse of a number a is its opposite, -a. The sum of a number and its additive inverse is 0.
Natural Numbers Whole numbers excluding zero.
Rational Numbers A number that can be repeated as the quotient. 4d
Real Numbers The set of all rational and irrational mumbers.
Whole Numbers Any positive number that does not includee a fractional or decimal part.
Repeating Decimals A decimal fraction in which a figure or group of figure is repeated indefinitely.
Terminating Decimals A decimal number hat contains a finite number of digits after the decimal point.
