Absolute Value | The absolute value of a number a is its distance from 0 on a number line. The absolute value of a number a is written as /a/. |
Opposites | Two numbers that are the same distance from 0 but on opposite sides 0. |
Integer | The numbers . . . , -3, -2, -1, 0, 1, 2, 3, . . . consisting of the negative integers, zero, and the positive integers. |
Additive Inverse | The additive inverse of a number a is its opposite, -a. The sum of a number and its additive inverse is 0. |
Natural Numbers | Whole numbers excluding zero. |
Rational Numbers | A number that can be repeated as the quotient. 4d |
Real Numbers | The set of all rational and irrational mumbers. |
Whole Numbers | Any positive number that does not includee a fractional or decimal part. |
Repeating Decimals | A decimal fraction in which a figure or group of figure is repeated indefinitely. |
Terminating Decimals | A decimal number hat contains a finite number of digits after the decimal point. |
