Term | Definition |

absolute Value | The absolute value of a number a is its distance from zero on a number line. |
Opposites | Two numbers that have the same absolute value but different signs. |
Integer | The numbers…, -3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3 consisting of the negative, zero, and positive integers. |
Additive Inverse | The additive inverse of a number a is its opposite, -a. |
Natural Numbers | Natural numbers are all positive integers from 1 to infinity. They do not include 0, numbers, fractions, decimals. |
Rational Numbers | A number that can be written as a quotient of two into integers. |
Real Numbers | The set rational numbers and irrational numbers. |
Whole Numbers | a set of numbers without fractions, decimals, or even negative integers. |
Repeating Decimals | A decimal that has a digit or block of digits that repeats without end. |
Terminating Decimals | A decimal that has a final digit. |
