Jamestown was an economic venture. What is an economic venture? doing something to make money/ a profit
Why was the charters of the Virginia Company of London important ? -they gave the company permission to establish the settlement - they extended English rights to the settlers -they defined the colony's boundaries (how big it should be)
What are the reasons the settlers selected Jamestown? -it could be easily defended from sea attack - they thought it had fresh water - it was located inland -there was room for ships to dock

Why was the General Assembly improtant? it was the first elected legislative body in English North America. It allowed some settlers (white, male land owners) to have a voice in their government
