Left's Views on Abortion A woman has the right to decide what happens with her body. A fetus is not a human life, so it does not have separate individual rights.
Right's Views on Affirmative Action Individual should be admitted to schools and hired for jobs based on their ability
Left's View on Affirmative Action Due to prevalent racism in the past, minorities were deprived of the same education and employment opportunities as whites
Right's View on Death Penalty It is a punishment that fits the crime of murder
Left's View on Death Penalty It should be abolished, it is inhumane
Right's View on Economy The free market system, competitive capitalism, and private enterprise create the greatest opportunity and the highest standard of living for all
Left's View on Economy A market system in which government regulates the economy is best. Government must protect citizens from the greed of business
What is an economic policy? A set of strategies that governments use to manage and steer the economy
What is the liberal economic policy? Increase taxes on wealthy and business
What is the conservative economic policy? Government should tax less and spend less
What is Liberty? Americans are entitled to the greatest amount of personal freedom possible as long as it does not harm to others.
What is Equality? This ideal focuses on equal across to opportunity, without regard to race, religion, or gender
What is democracy? The importance of majority rule and the protection of minority rights
What is individualism? Every citizen is responsible for their own actions and well-being
What is justice and the rule of law? The value of justice is a belief that society should be governed by a system of laws that are fairly and equally applied.
What is free enterprise? Promotes capitalism and a free-market economy in which private businesses
What is patriotism? A feeling of great pride and loyalty towards your country
What is optimism? The belief that circumstances in life will improve
What is civic duty? People who value this believe that citizens must vote and participate in civic and political affairs
What is liberalism? An ideology favoring an active role for government in efforts to solve society's problems
What is conservatism? An ideology favoring a limited role for government and more private initiatives by nongovernmental groups in efforts to solve society's problems
What is socialism? The main goal of socialism is to reduce economic inequality by ensuring a fair distribution of wealth
What is libertarianism? It is an ideology based on a strong belief in personal freedom
What is environmentalism? Advocates policies designed to reduce pollution and preserve natural recourse
What is centrism? People who sit at the center of the political spectrum between the ideologies of left and right

Right's view on climate change Change in global temperature is natural over long periods of time
