Expressions (C 6/7)

QuestionAnswer
algebraic expression a mathematical phrase involving at least one variable
term part of an expression being added
variable a symbol used to represent a quantity that can change
constant a value that does not change
like terms two or more terms that contain the same variables raised to the same power; two or more constants
coefficient a value being multiplied by a variable; found in front of a variable
exponential expression a mathematical phrase that indicates that the base is to be used as a factor the number of times shown by the exponent.

factoring rewriting an expression as the product of its factors; dividing each term by common factors
