What is the Social contract theory the idea that people agree to create a government in order to keep things peaceful and protect their rights. In return, they agree to follow the laws that government makes.
Why is the Social contract theory so important to how the United States government works? the U.S. government’s job is to protect the rights of its citizens, and if it fails to do that, the people have the right to change it. This idea is what makes the U.S. a democracy where the people’s consent is key.
what is a Dictatorship In a dictatorship, the ruler has near-complete control, unlike other forms of government where power is shared or distributed among different branches or elected officials.
Presidential the president is both the head of state and the head of government, and is elected separately from the legislative branch. This system features a clear separation of powers between the executive, legislative, and judicial branches.- united states
Parliamentary- the executive is chosen from the legislative branch, and the legislature can remove the prime minister through a vote of no confidence, unlike in a presidential system where the president is fixed for a term.- the UK
Confederal- power is primarily held by regional governments, and the central (national) government has limited authority. The national government relies on the agreement of the individual states or regions to make decisions.(like giving the states all the power)
Direct Democracy- a form of government in which citizens directly participate in decision-making and law-making processes, rather than electing representatives to make decisions on their behalf. (switzerland)
Indirect Democracy - In an indirect democracy (or representative democracy), citizens elect representatives to make decisions on their behalf, rather than voting directly on laws and policies.(united states)
