Vertical Airflow Hood ~have a vertical flow of filtered air ~HEPA filtered air comes from the top and passes downward through the work area
what does a high efficiency particulate air filter do ~they remove 99.97% of particles that are 0.3 microns or larger
Horizontal Airflow Hoods ~move air from back to front ~draws contaminated room air in through a pre-filter to remove gross contaminants ~pressurize this air ~push it through a final HEPA filter
what are the two types of LAH's vertical and horizontal hoods
what is the purpose of LAH's twice filtered laminar layers of aseptic air continuously sweeps the work area inside the hood and prevent contaminated air from entering the room
