Anxiety | Is an unpleasant feeling of apprehension or nervousness caused by the perception of potential or actual danger that threatens a person's security. |
Generalized Anxiety Disorder | excessive and unrealistic worry about two or more life circumstances(finances, illness, misfortune) for 6 months or longer. |
Panic Disorder | A panic attack is a sudden, intense experience of fear coupled with an overwhelming feeling of danger, accompanied by physical symptoms of anxiety, such as a pounding heart, sweating, and rapid breathing. |
Phobias | an intense but unrealistic fear that can interfere with the ability to socialize, work, or go about everyday life, brought on by an object, event or situation. |
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder | Disorder characterized by persistent, intrusive, and senseless thoughts (obsessions) or compulsions to perform repetitive behaviors that interfere with normal functioning. |
Compulsion | An uncontrollable impulse to perform an act, often repetitively, as an unconscious mechanism to avoid unacceptable ideas and desires which, by themselves, arouse anxiety. |
Anxiolytics | A drug that relieves anxiety. |
Tranquilizers | Having a soothing, calming, or tranquilizing effect; reducing or relieving anxiety, stress, irritability, or excitement. An agent or a drug that produces a soothing, calming, or tranquilizing effect. |
