What do the Pineal glands do?????? It produces the serotonin derivative melatonin, a hormone that affects the modulation of wake/sleep patterns and seasonal functions
What is the hypothalamus gland? it links the nervous system to the endocrine system via the pituitary gland (hypophysis)......
What is the Pituitary gland? is an endocrine gland about the size of a pea in humans. It is a protrusion off the bottom of the hypothalamus at the base of the brain, and rests in a small, bony cavity (sella turcica) covered by a dural fold (diaphragma sellae).
What do parathyroid glands do? The parathyroid glands are small endocrine glands in the neck that produce parathyroid hormone.
What is the the thyroid gland???????? The thyroid controls how quickly the body uses energy, makes proteins, and controls how sensitive the body should be to other hormones
What is the thymus gland? The only known function of the thymus is the production and "education" of T-lymphocytes (T cells), which are critical cells of the adaptive immune system
What do the adrenal glands do? Pump adrenalen throught your body.
What is the function of the Pancreas? It is both an endocrine gland producing several important hormones, including insulin, glucagon, and somatostatin, as well as an exocrine gland, secreting pancreatic juice containing digestive enzymes that pass to the small intestine.
What is the function of the testes in the male body? Like the ovaries to which they are homologous, testes are components of both the reproductive system and the endocrine system. The primary functions of the testes are to produce sperm (spermatogenesis) and to produce androgens, primarily testosterone.
What is the function of the ovaries in the female body? The ovary is an ovum-producing reproductive organ, often found in pairs as part of the vertebrate female reproductive system. Ovaries in females are analogous to testes in males, in that they are both gonads and endocrine glands.
